About the Program
The Metal Archive Scholarship is awarded annually to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing research on heavy metal music, extreme music culture, or related fields. We believe that academic study is essential to preserving and understanding the cultural significance of heavy metal.
Recipients receive a $5,000 grant to support their research, as well as mentorship from established scholars in the field and publication opportunities within our archive.
About the Program
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program
- Research focus on heavy metal music, culture, or related topics
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
- Commitment to contributing to the Metal Archive community
